Getting (or Staying) Fit in the Summer

Getting (or Staying) Fit in the Summer

Get fitSummer’s here, and the hot weather often throws us off our plan to get (or to stay) fit. Some people even give up on getting (or staying) fit in the summer.

It doesn’t have to be that way. You can get in the best shape of your life while hanging out at the beach or enjoying the pool with your friends. Here’s three quick tips to keep you motivated.

Tip 1: Get Rid of the Toxins

The food you put into your body becomes a reflection, a mirror, of your energy level. So, if you’re not feeling so great, it’s likely because you’ve been consuming junk!

Starting a nutritional cleansing system is a great way to kick off your summer and get the body and lifestyle change you need and want.

The program I use is long-term and flexible. I released more than 40 pounds and have easily kept it off for about two years now. Take a look at the short video on my nutritional page to learn more. The system replaces many of your meals, so you’re saving money on your grocery bills while you’re getting healthier.

Tip 2: Work Out

Once you’ve started getting rid of the toxins, you’ll find out that you have energy to work out and working out is the ultimate energy boost. As you’re putting together your game plan for fitness, keep in mind that it’s important to mix up your workouts. Otherwise, you might hit a plateau.

Makes sure that youfind an activity that — literally — moves you. You’re more likely to keep at it if you make it fun! If you like being outside, go for a jog or bike ride. If you want to tone parts of your body, you can strengthen your muscles by weightlifting. (If you’re a woman, don’t be afraid to lift weights. Weightlifting can help you build muscle, which will help you burn fat.) If you want to start out at a slower pace, give yoga a try, or just take a walk on your gym’s treadmill with various inclines and speeds.

Whatever you do, be sure to exercise. It’s a key part of your plan for a healthier body filled with more energy.

Tip 3: Plan Ahead

If you want your weight transformation to be successful, try plan your eating and workout routine ahead of time. Set aside 30 minutes out of your day to sit down on a Sunday afternoon — or another day of the week if better for you — and plan your meals and workouts over the next seven days. Just like you need to budget your financial life for success, you’ll have more success if you prepare a schedule for food and exercise.

Be sure to prepare for sensible meals that are high in protein and fiber and contain a balance of complete carbohydrates and good fats.
