I know exactly what you mean. I was a a pre-law major who went to seminary and ended up writing for newspapers for most of my career.

And my wife did tell me she met you. It is indeed, a small world. And, yes, I am blessed beyond measure.

One of my dreams in life was to teach high school, but I thought that only having a BA in Religion I was stuck going strictly the ministerial route. Then a friend suggested teaching at a private school. The rest is now about to become history. The bottom line is, as you say, you're never stuck.
