Desire plus determination equals success

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

Desire is an important part of getting what you want in life and in business. In multi-level marketing, it’s even more important.

In “Think and Grow Rich,” Napoleon Hill talks about the importance of knowing what you want. This desire needs to be definite. You must seek out the specifics of the great desire that is within you. Search deep within your soul for those deep core desires.

No one can discover those desires for you. Only you know the path to reveal them.

Spend time alone. Ask yourself what you really want. If money wasn’t an issue, what would you do?

Once you have found those desires, decide that nothing is going to stop you from getting them. Desire plus determination — that is the key.

Hill says, “What a different story men would have to tell if only they would adopt a DEFINITE PURPOSE, and stand by that purpose until it had time to become an all-consuming obsession!”

It’s not enough to have the desire and a little determination. You must have so much determination that you’re willing to work at it until it becomes an obsession that consumes you.

Hill says many successful people have said that their “greatest success came just one step beyond the point at which defeat had overtaken them.”

This shows the power of determination and desire. Your mind needs to be transformed into a state that sees the success that comes when determination and desire become obsession.

This is also known as finding your “why.” Think about why you first decided to start a home-based business. What were the reasons made it appealling to you? What was it that made you say, “I want to do this.”

Make a list of all those thoughts that ran through your head when you first decided to start your business. Don’t think about whether they make sense or not, just write them down.

When you’re finished, take a good look at the list. Boil them down to the three or four that are most important to you. Most likely, that’s your “why.” Those are your core desires for being in mlm.

Reaching MLM goals takes urgency, patience

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

To reach your MLM goals, your life must be a delicate balance of patience and urgency. You must have patience to achieve the best results, but you must always act with urgency. There is always a learning curve, whenever you start a new venture. So you must choose well and know you are in the right place with the right opportunity.

That belief allows you to have patience as you learn the ropes. And remember – you can’t just sit around and say, “Well, this will all work out in time.” You have to actively pursue your goals at all times, and continually urge your team to do the same.

Urgency starts with a beeline focus. Many people feel no need to hurry, no need to work fast and focused. But there’s a problem with that thinking: you don’t know the future. We’ve all seen that life can change in an instant. You get no guarantees.

We all know but sometimes we lose sight of it. That’s why YOU must preach URGENCY to your team and to your guests. You will know you’ve mastered the ability to effectively communicate the urgency, because people will be motivated. And you’ll make a lot of money for that skill. At the same time, coach them in patience and to think long-term. They have to act urgently, but follow a well thought-out plan.

This isn’t just for you. You need to do it for your team, because they need a model of urgency and patience. Share your goals and long-term plan to achieve them – as a model for them. Share your day-to-day urgency, and how it affects every action you take. We all have bad habits that sabotage success, and one of the best tools to get rid of them is “ The Slight Edge ” by Jeff Olson.

Olson shows how in just a couple minutes a day, you can make time your friend your enemy. When you consistently do the right things in your MLM business, time works in your favor. And the more bad habits you get rid of, the easier it will be to act with urgency on the points crucial to your success. And THAT is how you can get the result you want.

Working for a living

posted in: Uncategorized | 2

It occurs to me that there are at least three reasons to work.

The first, and most obvious, is to make money. Most of us work for a certain amount of time or do certain things in exchange for money. We do this so we can have the resources to care for our families, so our kids can eat and have clothes and so we can afford to buy things we need and things we want.

Throughout my career, I’ve wrongly de-emphasized this reason to work. I’ve always thought that you should have higher, more noble reasons to work. While there are other reasons, I now see that money can be used for good. It’s not the root of all evil that some people make it out to be. Yes, it is said that the “love of money,” is the root of all evil, but it’s not evil to use money as a means to accomplish good.

The second reason to work is self-fulfillment. We work because of our need to be somebody. We find our sense of being in what we do.

The third reason to work is to help other people. We work to make the world a better place.
The best profession is one which accomplishes all three. We help other people; find our place of service and make money necessary to survive and to accomplish good.

When all three of these are accomplished I think we’ve found our calling. Unfortunately, it’s not easy to find that type of fulfillment in a typical job. Too often we end up mindlessly doing some tasks over and over again with little personal growth. We become stagnant.

That’s why I believe a home-based business is the best way to find fulfillment in life.
